TL;DR

  • Samsung has announced the budget-priced Galaxy A14 5G at CES 2023.
  • The 6.6-inch display will have a 90Hz refresh rate and will come with 64GB of onboard storage.
  • The price of the phone will be $199.99, but no release date has been revealed.

Earlier this week at CES 2023, Samsung revealed plenty of new monitors, but it’s not done with announcements yet. Today Samsung unveiled its latest budget phone offering, the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G.

Aesthetically similar to its predecessor, the A14 5G might not be as exciting as a flagship, but it is still an attractive handset, especially considering it will only cost $199.99. One small design change is the display, as the 90Hz FHD+ screen is now slightly bigger than the A13 at 6.6 inches.

As for what is under the hood? Samsung’s latest budget handset is powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 700 with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card. You’ll also get 5G, as the name implies, but only Sub6. For those who want long battery life, the A14 5G delivers a pretty big 5,000mAh battery, with support for 15W wired charging.

Samsung made a point to emphasize that its new selfie camera is a massive improvement from the A13 5G with a 13MP front-facing sensor. On the back, there will be a 50MP main camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.

In recent years we’ve seen Samsung really up its game regarding updates, which continues here with the A14 5G. It will come with Android 13 installed. You’ll get two generations of Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates.

The Galaxy A14 5G comes in four colors globally, but the US will only get the black colorway. Unfortunately, Samsung has yet to reveal a release date for the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G, but we’ll be sure to update this post as we learn more.
