Samsung Galaxy J2 Core Android Go Smartphone Launched in India

Samsung has today launched its first Android Go smartphone dubbed as Samsung Galaxy J2 Core, in India and Malaysia. As we know, the Android Go is a stripped-down version of the operating system with lighter versions of Google apps and optimizations for lower-end devices including Assistant Go, Files Go, Gboard, Gmail Go, Google Go, Maps Go, and YouTube Go. The smartphone also has a layer of Samsung UI on top with Samsung’s Optimised Data Control to manage data consumption. The company is yet to reveal the pricing details of the smartphone in India. It will be made available only in Golden colour option.

Samsung Galaxy J2 Core Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) operating system. It sports a 5” qHD (540×960 pixels) TFT display. The smartphone is powered by an Exynos 7570 quad-core processor coupled with Mali-T720 MP1 GPU. It offers 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which is further expandable via microSD card.

For photography, the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core has an 8MP camera on its back with f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash support for better lowlight capturing. On the front, it has a 5MP selfie shooter with Beauty Mode that is touted to offer users better portraits and selfies.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core is fuelled by a 2,600mAh battery that is rated to offer all-day backup on a single charge. Connectivity 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB port. Sensors on board include an accelerometer and a proximity sensor. It measures 143.4×72.1×8.9mm and weighs 154 grams.
