Samsung Galaxy S9 will reportedly feature same screen size as Galaxy S8, Months before the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, rumors and leaks regarding Samsung’s upcoming flagship phones have already started cropping up on the internet.
According to a report in Korea’s The Investor, The Samsung next year flagship smartphones look set to retain the same 5.77” and 6.2” display sizes seen in this year’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus with the Infinity Display, which is the same as the current series. It also says the shape will remain the same wit no home button.
As per The Investor, Samsung has already instructed Samsung Display to start manufacturing displays for the next year flagship models. There will reportedly be absolutely no change in the display in terms of size or the features. This means Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+ will come with same bezel-less design and edge-to-edge Infinity display seen in Samsung’s 2017.
There are also rumors that Samsung is likely to follow in the Apple’s footsteps and try and embed the fingerprint scanner under the display with the S9 series. Many reports had claimed that the company had wanted to do the same with the Galaxy S8 line-up but failed to do so due to technical immaturity and placed the fingerprint scanner at the back, next to the camera unit, which was far from an ideal position, and faced some criticism.
Other expected features of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ include a likely dual rear camera setup, and the next generation Qualcomm Snapdragon and Exynos chipset based on the 7nm process.
The report also talks of Galaxy Note 9, which is more than a year away, even though Galaxy Note 8 is yet to launch. The report says Samsung is likely to equip the smartphone with a 6.32-inch display. It also says Galaxy Note 8 will be launched on August 23 in New York as rumored earlier.
