Netflix has found itself in a huge turmoil in 2022, after posting a subscriber loss of 200,000 members in Q1, with a further 2 million projected to stop their services of the popular streaming platform later this year.

This has caused to the cancellation of many TV shows that fans aren’t happy to hear about, as Netflix tries to cut down on costs after. However, one show seems to be spending at a rate we have never seen before, as it’s been reported that the streaming platform has broken the bank for the penultimate season of the popular TV show, Stranger Things.

The fourth season of the show recently received its first teaser trailer, and over the course of two volumes in 2022, Netflix will release nine episodes worth of content featuring Eleven and her family and friends,

With a nine episode run, fans are expected to see a bump in the budget for Season 4 following the success of the first three seasons on Netflix. However, according to the Wall Street Journal, the platform has gone way too overboard by providing a budget of $30 million per episode. That would add up to an almost $270 million budget for the entire season of the show.

The eye-watering number competes against the best of what TV has to offer. Season 4 of Stranger Things reportedly costs more than the likes of Game of Thrones, the Mandalorian and even MCU Disney+ shows like Loki, Moon Knight and many more. The show has such a ridiculous budget that it can even compete with some of the biggest blockbusters involving characters from DC, Marvel and Star Wars.

The first volume of Stranger Things Season 4 will arrive next month, and fans have a lot of expectations with the show’s content, especially after learning about its budget, and as of right now, it seems like Netflix has played a massive gamble by putting all their eggs in the Stranger Things basket, and only time will tell if their bet pays off.
