She-Hulk Head Writer Reveals Which Jokes They Had to Pull Back on in the Show

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it is quickly gaining popularity for Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters. The character is quick-witted, funny, and the self-awareness from the comics is translated in a natural way to the screen. As the show features many jokes poking fun at other Marvel characters as well, She-Hulk head writer and executive producer Jessica Gao revealed to IGN in an interview which jokes they had to cut from the show.

Gao said that she couldn’t believe some of the jokes that were greenlit for the show.

But there were also times when the management thought the writers went too far making fun of Marvel.

In our review for the premiere of She-Hulk, IGN India’s Rupesh Nair gave the episode a score of 8/10, writing, “Marvel’s She-Hulk starts off with a flurry of comedic moments that will tickle your bones. While the CGI still feels janky on a lot of occasions, there’s a very great chance that you might be willing to overlook it because of Tatiana Maslany’s hilarious performance as Jennifer Walters.”
