smallcap stocks: In bear grip! 26 of Anil Kumar Goel’s smallcap bets down up to 66% from highs

NEW DELHI: Anil Kumar Goel, who owns stakes in 33 listed smallcap and microcap stocks as of latest filings, has at least 26 of his portfolio stocks in the bear grip. Data showed these stocks have fallen 20-66 per cent from their respective 52-week highs compared with a 16 per cent fall in the BSE Smallcap index from its recent peak.

Some of the stocks had delivered solid returns and, despite the steep falls, are still sitting on strong one-year returns, data compiled by Trendlyne suggests.

sank 64 per cent from its 52-week high, slumped 55 per cent; plunged 53 per cent over its one-year high.



Goel has been holding Samtex Fashions at least since December 2015. Despite the recent fall, this stock is still up 255 per cent for the last one year.

Goel held Rs 220 crore worth 12.7 per cent stake in Dhampur Sugar as of Tuesday. He has been holding on to it at least since June quarter of 2016.

Goel owned 2.1 per cent stake in DCM Nouvelle as of March 31. The ace investor has been holding this stock at least since June 2021. Despite the recent steep fall, this stock is up 50 per cent in the last one year.

Five of Goel stocks fell in the 40-43 per cent range from their respective one-year highs.

has plunged 43 per cent; has tanked 43 per cent, has dived 42 per cent, has slipped 41 per cent while Nahar Capital has fallen 40 per cent.

Among these stocks, Goel holds Rs 92 crore worth 6.6 per cent stake in Nahar Spinning. Despite the recent slump, the scrip is up 180 per cent in the last one year. In fact, Goel has raised his stake in the company for three consecutive quarters now.

Goel owned 2.9 per cent stake in Dhunseri Tea. He has kept his stake constant in the company for four quarters now. Goel has been holding 1.9 per cent stake in KG Denim since December 2015.

Goel entered

in the September quarter and has been raising his stake in quarter after quarter. As of March 31, he held 2.3 per cent stake in this company. The stock is up 420 per cent in the last one year.

Goel entered Nahar Capital with 2.1 per cent stake in December quarter, only to increase that stake to 2.35 per cent in March quarter. This stock is up 231.64 per cent in the last one year.

Vardhman Holdings,

and Salasar Techno are a few portfolio stocks, which are down over 35 per cent from 52-week highs. KBRL, , Avadh Sugar and are Goel’s other portfolio stocks, which are down over 30 per cent.
