While the console continues to face some shortage problems since its release two years ago, the future looks bright as developers introduce new games for the console.

For the past few months, rumors have surfaced about PlayStation working on a PS5 with a detachable disk drive. The rumored system is reportedly launching later this year. However, the Japanese gaming giants have largely stayed mum on this topic.

According to sources of Insider Gaming, the company is in the midst of developing a PS5 Pro, with the model having a tentative release date of late 2024. Not much is known about the improvements that Sony will bring about in the Pro model. However, the report points to a patent filed by PS5 architect Mark Cerny, which details a system for “accelerated ray tracing.”

In the end, it will be interesting to see if Sony has plans to announce the development of this rumored PS5 Pro model, as fans are intrigued to know whether the current generation of consoles will see any major upgrade anytime soon.
