Sony Xperia XZ Premium Launched in India with Snapdragon 835 SoC at Rs. 59,990

On Thursday, Sony has launched its flagship Xperia XZ Premium in India. Xperia XZ Premium becomes the first smartphone to launch with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC in India. The phone is priced at Rs. 59,990; it will be available from June 12 onwards from Sony Center, select retail outlets, and Amazon.com.
Pre-bookings for the Sony Xperia XZ Premium start from Friday, June 2, and close June 11. Customers who pre-book the device will get a Sony SRS-XB20 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker worth Rs. 8,990 for free. The company is also offering a 3-month subscription to Sony LIV worth Rs. 349 and 5,200 in-game credits of Gameloft’s Modern Combat 5 for free for all buyers. The smartphone comes in two colour variants Luminous Chrome and Deep sea Black.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium features glass loop surface design, with a reflective surface on the back, on the front, it sports a 5.5-inch 4K (2160×3840 pixels)HDR TRILUMINOS display (High Dynamic Range) with an sRGB 138 percent spectrum and the X-Reality for Mobile display engine. The phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and back of the smartphone. It also comes with IP65/68 rating, which makes the device water-resistant and dust proof
Sony Xperia XZ Premium runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system, as mentioned earlier the phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
Apart from high-end 835 SoC; the Sony Xperia XZ Premium equipped with high-end photography features as well. The smartphone sports a 19MP Motion Eye camera with a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS memory stacked sensor coupled with 25mm f/2.0 lens with 1.22μm sensor, it also comes with triple image sensing technology and predictive hybrid autofocus. It is capable of shooting super slow motion videos at 960 fps, and 4K video recording. That’s all for the primary camera, now coming on front camera, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium has a 13MP 1/3.06-inch Exmor RS sensor that’s coupled with 22mm wide-angle f/2.0 lens. The company is touting its SteadyShot technology for both cameras, with 5-axis stabilisation.
The phone is powered by a 3,230mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology and Qnovo Adaptive charging layer on top for quicker battery refill. It also supports Smart Stamina mode that uses Xperia learning engine to estimate how long battery will last, based on normal usage. And warns users if it detects the battery going to run out of power later that day and prompts to activate Stamina mode.
Sony has launched the dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) variant of the XZ Premium in India; Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (3.1), and a 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. The phone measures 156x77x7.9mm, and weighs 191 grams.
