“The St Kilda Football Club is aware of a motor vehicle incident that occurred on the morning of Saturday 5 February involving draftee, Oscar Adams,” the club statement read.

“He is uninjured and with his family at home.

“The club is gathering further information regarding the matter before it determines the appropriate next steps.

“Oscar’s welfare is the primary concern of the club at this point in time.”

The 18-year-old recently joined the club following last year’s draft in November.

The 198cm Adams, who was taken with pick No.51, has been identified as both a key position defender and a ruckman.

Earlier today, the club also confirmed that defender Nick Coffield would miss the 2022 AFL season after suffering an ACL injury during pre-season training.

“Nick had been doing everything right this pre-season and we were really looking forward to seeing what he could achieve this year,” said Saints chief operating officer Simon Lethlean.

“This is a big blow to Nick, but we know he’ll be doing everything he can to get back out there as soon as possible.

“While this is a significant setback, Nick has the full support of the entire Club as he attacks his rehabilitation.”
