Steam Awards 2022 Results Announced With Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, God of War and More Winners

Steam Awards 2022 results are out now, and players can check out whether their favorite games of the year have won any of the awards. Steam Awards 2022 had diverse set of categories and the winners were decided through voting done by the Steam community.

Game of the Year – Elden Ring

Elden Ring took the award for Game of the Year at Steam Awards 2022. It was fighting against the likes of Dying Light 2, Stray, God of War 2018 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Seeing that Elden Ring was also the winner at the Game Awards 2022 and is massive within the PC community, it was a no brainer that this game would take home the Game of the Year award here as well.

VR Game of the Year – Hitman 3

For the VR Game of the Year, Hitman 3 emerged victorious against the likes of Bone Lab, Green Hell VR, Among Us VR and Inside the Backrooms. Hitman 3 has improved the way the platform is used, and it has pushed the boundaries of VR and that is why it has been awarded the VR Game of the Year.

Labor of Love – Cyberpunk 2077

Next comes a category that awards the games which are still receiving content years after release. Cyberpunk 2077 was crowned in this category, after battling it out against Dota 2, Project Zomboid, No Man’s Sky and Deep Rock Galactic.

Better With Friends – Raft

Then comes the category for the best multiplayer title, and this is a big one as most of the fun in gaming lies in multiplayer games. The winner of this category was Raft and the other nominations were Ready or Not, Monster Hunter Rise, MultiVersus, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Outstanding Visual Style – Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Then comes the category where the most visually pleasing games takes home the award. This time around Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales had the best visuals according to the community. Other nominations included Scorn, Bendy and the Dark Revival, Cult of the Lamb and Kena: Bridge of Spirits.

Most Innovative Gameplay – Stray

Next is a category where the winner is the game that has innovated the most in terms of how you play it. The winner in this category was Stray and it won against the likes of Mount and Blade II, Teardown, Neon White and Dome Keeper.

Best Game You Suck At – Elden Ring

This category includes the title that players found the most difficult to play, and naturally Elden Ring took the cake. There were other heavy hitters that were nominated in this category which includes GTFO, Victoria 3, Total War: Warhammer III and FIFA 23.

Best Soundtrack – Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

The next category involves the game which was a treat to the player’s ears. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade had the best soundtrack and it won against the likes of Metal Hellsinger, Sonic Frontiers, Persona 5 Royale and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix+.

Outstanding Story-Rich Game – God of War

Then the category for the best narrative in a game was won by Santa Monica Studios’ 2018 title, God of War. The other nominations included some big names such as A Plague Tale: Requiem, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, The Stanley Parable and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered.

Sit Back and Relax – Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

The next category awarded the title that was relaxing and could be played for leisure. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga emerged victorious here against the likes of Power Wash Simulator, Disney’s Dreamlight Valley, Dorf Romantik and Slime Rancher 2

Best Game on the Go – Death Stranding: Director’s Cut

With the release of the Steam Deck, several games became playable on the go. The award for this year’s Best Game on the Go went to the Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. Other nominations included, Yu-Gi-Oh!: Master Duel, Vampire Survivors, Brotato and Marvel Snap.
