Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kuzmin has confirmed that he will no longer be taking part in part of the show’s live tour after testing positive for Covid. The dance professional, 24, made the announcement on Instagram this evening, adding that he is “so sad” to not be featuring in the live shows alongside his celebrity partner Tilly Ramsay.

In view of his 109,000 followers, Nikita broke the news.

He wrote: “So sad to be missing a portion of the Strictly Live Tour, but unfortunately I tested Positive for COVID-19.

“Lots of luck to all the amazing Strictly Cast.

“Will be back as soon as I can,” he ended his post alongside a smiling face.

The star shared a throwback snap with Tilly from their time on Strictly, before sharing two snaps of himself holding up three lateral flow tests.

Standing in a hotel room, Nikita posed in a mirror while brandishing his positive Covid tests, pulling a sad face in the second one.

After Nikita shared the sad news, his Strictly friends rushed to the comments to console him.

His Strictly dance partner Tilly Ramsay was among the first to address the news.

Only five days ago, Nikita expressed his excitement at the tour starting.

Sharing a snap from a group number, he wrote: “Cannot wait to dance The Jig and many other amazing routines during the Strictly Tour who is coming? @strictlycomedancinglive.”

Nikita danced next to flame-haired Dianne, as Luba Mushtuk stood to her left, while Kai Widdrington was visible on the far right.

Last week, Tilly joked that she has a “new favourite partner” as the Strictly cast continued to rehearse ahead of their live tour.

The BBC contestant quipped about replacing Strictly partner Nikita.

In a clip posted to Amy Dowden’s Instagram story, Tilly appeared to have worked up a sweat as she expressed having had “the most fun” working with the Welsh professional dancer.

“We have the most fun…,” the Strictly star gleefully said.

“We have the best time. My new favourite dance partner,” she added.

The Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour starts on January 20 and will run for 33 dates until February 13.
