Former Twitch streamer Sykkuno recently made a major move by leaving the purple platform behind in favor of YouTube Gaming.
The streaming superstar announced the sensational news yesterday, which makes him another one of Twitch’s high-profile content creators, who have left the platform to join its rivals. Over the past few years, the Amazon-owned platform has seen creators like CourageJD, TimTheTatman, Valkyrae, DrLupo, Dr Disrespect and Ludwig leave for various reasons.
Following his recent switch, Sykkuno talked about the exit from Twitch in his latest YouTube stream, where he revealed that there were a multitude of reasons behind his decision to join YouTube.
For starters, Sykkuno noted that Twitch provided him with a pretty horrendous first offer, while YouTube provided a much more competitive deal. Eventually, the purple platform gave the streamer a much better offer, and Sykkuno believed that he would soon sign on the dotted line.
However, the deal took a sudden turn, when a Twitch employee emailed him, which included the incorrect spelling of Sykkuno’s name. The streamer further revealed that Twitch messed up big time by writing his name as “Sukkuno,” which put him off to the point where he questioned the platform’s management.
Sykkuno stated that he was disappointed with Twitch’s response, as he felt that he was one of the platform’s biggest stars, and following the recent departure of Ludwig, the GTA RP streamer believed that the management didn’t care much about him, even though he earned big bucks for the company.
sykkuno: yt just saying“hey syk, we really like you’re content, we think you’re a good streamer…”and that’s a pretty good feeling, i don’t think twitch had the exact same vibe as that, and they’re(yt)basically saying “we believe in you and we’re gonna pay you just to be here…” pic.twitter.com/rnPA5RSZ4s

This silly blunder from a Twitch employee pushed Sykkuno to consider the YouTube deal in great detail. And according to him, the red platform showed that they cared much more about his content, and in the end, he made the shocking decision of leaving Twitch in favor of YouTube.
