Tesla Inspired Apple carOS Rumoured to Be in Development

Apple has been the industry leader in many of the sections that new-age technology is comprised of, but they are still to make any moves in the automobile industry. The rumours about Apple working on their own electric car have been around since the first electric car came out. This the first time we are receiving some sort of information about what Apple carOS could be.

According to the latest report by Digitimes, Apple seems to be working on an operating system for what is assumed to be their own spinoff on an EV car. The report was spotted by Notebookcheck, and has provided and in-depth report of what Apple might be working on under the wraps.

As the report goes, it seems like Apple is working on a custom carOS that has been inspired by the likes of Tesla. This carOS will comprise of a centrally integrated operating system which is also used by Tesla automobiles. This operating system will work to enhance the navigation features, entertainment and informative features and also the sensors that help with data processing.

According to the report by Digitimes, their carOS will powered by none other than the M1 SoC, which is a powerhouse. This SoC will be developed in tandem with Korean companies that will help in the development of the neural processing unit, which will help analyse road conditions along with driver input.

Apple has a CarPlay feature that allows for interruption free media playback, this feature comes in-built with a lot of the recent cars that have come out. But, the carOS will be very feature heavy when compared to CarPlay as it will include features that will help with analysing the road and will have infotainment features which will surpass whatever CarPlay has to offer.

Apple has not officially provided any of the above information, therefore everyone should take this information with a grain of salt. Many believed that Apple has secretly been working on their own self-driving car since years now, but the company has been particularly reserved about this information, just like they are with all their other products. Interested individuals will just have to wait and see what Apple is really developing under the wraps once an official announcement is out.
