Red has long been considered a powerful colour when it comes to fashion, and members of the Royal Family have worn some stunning red ensembles over the years. Modern royals including Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex have been known to walk a red carpet or attend an important royal engagement dressed top-to-toe in red. But before these royal women stole the royal fashion spotlight, Princess Diana, Sophie, Countess of Wessex and the Queen were all known to rock the colour too.
Kate, Duchess of Cambridge in Canada, 2016
Prince William, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte visited Canada as part of a royal tour in 2016. Fitting with the Canadian red flag, Kate dressed in a classic red dress with an asymmetric neckline for a reception at Government House, which she paired with red shoes and a red clutch bag. She paid an extra tribute to Canada with a maple-leaf brooch from the royal collection.
