Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd chase bargain deal, Arsenal ‘ready to overpay’, Mudryk latest | Football | Sport
Arsenal have accepted that they may have to overpay to bring in Joao Felix on loan this month, according to transfer expert Dean Jones.
The Portuguese is keen to leave Atletico Madrid amid a strained relationship with boss Diego Simeone but the Rojiblancos are demanding a hefty sum for interested parties to take him on loan.
Manchester United have supposedly offered £3.5million but Arsenal could trump that with a bid of their own, although Atletico’s demand for £13m is unlikely to be met.
“I’m hearing that Arsenal are going to try to negotiate with Atletico over Joao Felix,” Jones told GiveMeSport. “They will try to find some common ground over the loan fee and accept that they might have to overpay compared to a typical loan fee.”
