Truecaller is very popular caller ID app in India for searching unknown numbers. Truecaller has introduced UP-based Payment in India back in March where Truecaller users on Android can transfer money via the UPI-based payment system. Now Truecaller brings a new feature in Its UPI-based payment system called ‘Request Money’.Truecaller believes the feature will be useful to avoid “awkward situations of asking for money from someone”.
The new Request Money feature allows users to create links that can be shared to other Truecaller users. Once the other party receives the request via a notification, they can tap on it and make payments. And for completing the payment general security protocols needs to be followed like entering MPIN when prompted.
The Request Money link can also be shared via different platforms like SMS, email, messaging apps, or post it publically on websites. Clicking on the user will be redirected to Truecaller app to complete the payment. Sadly the feature is limited only for Android users and there are no words when it will be available on iOS.
In addition to sending and receiving money via UPI, users can also check their account balance and recharge their mobile connections. The recharge option is available within Truecaller Pay and the same verification process needs to be followed to use this service. Mobile recharges are so far restricted to prepaid connections only, and postpaid bill payments haven’t been integrated as yet.
