Twitter down for some users, unable to login on the website

It seems like social networking platform Twitter is reportedly down for some users. According to DownDetector, the site that keeps track of outages on websites, the Elon Musk-owned platform was suffering from an outage in a few parts of the world.
We tried accessing Twitter and it did seem to work fine for some while others did complain about the site not opening. DownDetector also says that the ‘problem’ seems to be with the desktop version of Twitter rather than the app. “Something went wrong but don’t fret — let’s give it another shot” is the message which pops up when a few users try to log in to Twitter.

As per DownDetector, the outage — rather limited — started around 3 am and saw a relatively big spike around 7 am. The DownDetector Map which shows areas where any particular site is down suggests that users in very few parts of India were facing problems with the social networking platform.
Meanwhile, Twitter has been in constant news for the past one week since Tesla CEO Elon Musk finally completed his acquisition of the social media platform. Musk has said that he will not bring back banned users and accounts any time soon on the platform.
Musk has also been extremely vocal about making verified accounts — or blue tick accounts — a paid feature for users. He said that Twitter will charge $8 per month, which might include certain other features as well. It’s not known by when verified accounts will become a paid feature and whether it will be made available to users in India as well. Rumours about Musk letting go of almost 50% of the staff have also been doing the rounds. The CEO of Twitter hasn’t made any official comment on the matter of sacking employees.
