“Twitter Isn’t a Bar”- Jack Dorsey Agrees With Elon Musk to Overturn Donald Trump’s Ban

Twitter co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey backed Elon Musk’s potential plan to reinstate the Twitter account of former American president, Donald Trump.

The 45th President of the United States was permanently banned from the micro-blogging site after tweeting about his support for the rioters, who stormed the US Capitol on January 6.

With Musk soon taking over the popular social media platform, the billionaire recently revealed that he would reverse Trump’s suspension from Twitter, and he further mentioned that it was “morally wrong” to ban the former President.

In his statement, Musk claimed that former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey also agreed with his sentiment, even though he oversaw the company when Trump was permanently suspended from the platform.

Dorsey later took to Twitter to voice his opinion by backing Musk’s statements about permanent suspensions being a failure of the platform unless it’s an extreme situation.

Moreover, Dorsey even clarified the comments he made when Twitter banned Trump in January by mentioning that the suspension was a business decision made by Twitter, and he wants to overturn it, as he doesn’t believe in the merits of permanent suspensions.

Users responded to Dorsey by pointing out that social gathering places like bars and stadiums can ban certain people from showing up to the premises to which the former CEO responded by stating that Twitter is a platform for people to voice their opinions, which is much different from a social gathering place.

At the moment, Musk hasn’t completed his ownership of Twitter, and it will be interesting to see if the former president will be making a return to the micro-blogging site anytime soon.
