Hugo Adams, Kelpi
Hugo Adams is the Chief Commercial Officer of Kelpi. Before Kelpi Hugo spent 27 years in the consumer goods, FMCG and retail industries in a variety of senior commercial, marketing and business development roles. He has launched, scaled and expanded brands, products and markets for The Body Shop, Kraft Foods, Dyson, Marks and Spencer and Superdry. Most recently he was the CEO of two retail businesses and throughout his career has developed and grown a passion for sustainable, ethical companies.
Hugo joined Kelpi to help save the planet and to turn the tide on plastic packaging. He has developed relationships with some of the world’s largest brands and global packaging providers and is very excited about taking the unique material that the industry-leading scientists at Kelpi have created to market at scale in 2025.
Sanna Fager, PulPac
Sanna holds a master’s in mechanical engineering and has a background in business and market development. With a passion for sustainable solutions, she leads the commercial team that helps global clients implement PulPac’s patented technology for dry forming of cellulose. Dry Molded Fiber is a groundbreaking technology that makes fiber-based products a competitive and viable alternative to single use plastic. PulPac is the technology owner and world leader of Dry Molded Fiber. The vision is to make impact at scale in creating a better future for people and planet by enabling the packaging industry to replace single-use plastics with affordable and truly sustainable fiber-based product.
Philipp Eissner, Graphic Packaging International
Philipp Eissner, Business Development and Innovation Manager for Graphic Packaging International is from Stuttgart, Germany and is based out of the Frankfurt manufacturing facility. He gained a Diploma in Packaging Engineering in 2006 and has worked in the paperboard packaging industry since then, with roles at MMP, AR Packaging and now Graphic Packaging since AR Packaging’s acquisition by them. He’s married, and has three children.
Herwig Kirchberger, DelSCI
Herwig is Managing Director at the Austrian-based, applied research company DELSCI and since 2020 responsible for strategic business and packaging development activities. DELSCI is designing next-generation fibre-based packaging solutions for delfort, a global speciality paper manufacturing & printing group. With a team of over 20 scientists and engineers, DELSCI’s mission is to reinvent paper for true sustainable barrier packaging applications. Herwig also campaigns for agile processes, open collaborations and a design thinking mind-set in the paper and packaging industry.
Before working at DELSCI, Herwig was co-founder of an engineering and prototyping company and managed it from 2016-2019. From 2008 – 2016 he was Head of Business Development and Business Unit Director for a global player in the textile industry and from 2001 – 2008 he was responsible for Sales and Business Development in the Asia/Pacific region for a global semiconductor equipment manufacturer.
Herwig holds a master’s degree in technical physics from the University in Graz/Austria and an MBA from the University of Krems/Austria. Herwig is a certified Agile Project Manager and Design Thinking Expert.
Ian Bates, Two Sides
Ian Bates is the Two Sides European Marketing & Partnership Director.
After over 20 years working within the packaging industry, Ian has been at the cutting-edge of paper-based packaging developments, working with leading brand owners to help them reduce their dependency on single-use plastic. He holds a wealth of experience about the forest and cellulose value chain and how to collaborate with multiple partners and stakeholders.
