“I tested positive on my exit test yesterday and I’ll stay one more week in isolation in Australia,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Thanks for your support and see you soon.”

It’s unclear at this stage what will happen with Humbert’s opponent Gasquet, who is scheduled to face Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp tomorrow in the second round on Court 7.

Gasquet is also no stranger to COVID-19 drama this summer after testing positive in early January upon his arrival into the country.

He will need to now return a negative test before taking the court again in Melbourne. Tennis Australia has said they won’t let a positive test derail the entire tournament.
