UP assembly polls: Bhim Army’s Chandra Shekhar Aazad to compete against CM Adityanath in Gorakhpur

Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, Azad Samaj Party’s chief Chandra Shekhar Aazad on Thursday announced that he will be contesting the polls from the Gorakhpur seat, squaring off against the state’s Chief Minister & Bharatiya Janata Party member Yogi Adityanath.

The Azad Samaj Party posted the announcement on Twitter.

“Thank you very much. I have fought for last 5 years as well & I will still fight. Jai Bhim, Jai Mandal,” Aazad quote tweeted the same. Gorakhpur is the hometown of UP CM Adityanath whom Aazad will now square off against.
Uttar Pradesh assembly election is slated to begin from February 10. Uttar Pradesh votes for a new government in a seven-phase poll, results of which will be declared on March 10.
