In the last few years, Mobile manufacturers have adopted a dual-brand strategy which emerged as a successful strategy to cover different markets around the world. Mainly these dual-brand strategy has been adopted by Chinese-based Mobile manufacturers. As Xiaomi has launched Redmi as its sub-brand which mainly targets mid-range phones and has become very successful in the market. Later, they also pushed another sub-brand called Poco in the market. In the same way, Huawei has launched Honor as its sub-brand and on the other hand, Oppo has recently launched its sub-brand called Realme. All of the above sub-brands has emerged as a good strategy to cover more markets around the globe.
Now, continuing the tradition, another Chinese brand Vivo has launched its sub-brand called ‘iQOO’. Vivo has introduced its sub-brand on Chinese Microblogging site ‘Weibo’ making a new account for “iQOO mobile phones” and shared a poster which is attached above in this post.
The confirmation has been done by Weibo certification showing that this iQOO belong to the Vivo Mobile Communication Co. Ltd. Just after the release of this news in the Chinese media, there have been more than 15,000 fans on Weibo who is excited to welcome this brand. According to Chinese media, it is believed that this sub-brand will operate independently in the market.
As for its price segment is concerned, there isn’t any prior knowledge about the range of these smartphones. But looking over to poster released, it looks like the phones which will be released under iQOO sub-branding will be featured with futuristic technology and so their price segment may be a bit higher than that of normal Vivo phones.
Meanwhile, this is regarded as a good strategy of Vivo to start its sub-brand at the start of this year and this may also emerge as the successful one like others. iQOO will be fully launched later in this year with some of their prototypes. So, we have to wait a bit more to get some more details over it.
