Vivo on Tuesday has finally launched it’s much aviated Vivo X20 Plus UD smartphone in China. The smartphone comes with the price tag of 3598 yuan ($564/ Rs. 35956 approx) and will be available to purchase January 29 while the pre-booking starts from today itself. The main highlight of the Vivo X20 Plus UD is it’s under display fingerprint technology, it is the world’s first smartphone to come with an under display fingerprint scanner.
The Vivo X20 Plus UD is equipped with a Clear ID 9500 optical under-display fingerprint sensor by Synaptics. It uses photoelectric reflection technology on the OLED panel; it can unlock the device in 0.6 or 0.7 seconds – slightly slower than the regular capacitive fingerprint sensors. Apart from unlocking the device, the sensor can also use for payment verification on Alipay and WeChat security payments.
Talking about the specifications, the Vivo X20 Plus runs on FunTouch OS based on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system. It sports a 6.43” Full-HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) FullView AMOLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor. It offers 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which can be further expandable up to 256GB via MicroSD card.
For photography, the Vivo X20 Plus sports a dual-camera setup with a combination of a 24MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, OIS, and a secondary 5MP shooter. On the front, it has a 12MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture and soft LED flash.
The smartphone is fueled by a 3905 mAh battery with fast charging support. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi, GPS, and USB Type-C port. It measures 165.2 x 80.02 x 7.35 mm and weighs 183.1 grams.
