James Cameron’s Avatar: Way of the Water has been an unbelievable success and it has been breaking records left, right and center. Recently, we were informed that the movie managed to break into the top 6 highest grossing movies of all-time, defeating the likes of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Now, it seems the film has outdone itself again, as the latest report by Variety informs us that the movie has now reached the $2 billion mark and is the sixth movie in history to reach that point. The other movies alongside Avatar 2 in this list are Avengers: Infinity War, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Titanic, Avengers: Endgame and the original Avatar.
As we know, Avatar: Way of the Water has already beat Spider-Man: No Way Home and we know who the next targets are for the film. Avatar: Way of the Water stands at $2 billion at the moment, and the two closest movies to that number are Avengers: Infinity War with $2.04 billion and Star Wars: The Force Awakens with $2.069 billion, it’ll be interesting to see if Avatar 2 makes it to the top 5 highest grossing movies of all time during its run.

Avatar: Way of the Water seems to be going strong still and it looks like it will be trying to break more records before its time at the box office ends. The movie has been the number 1 movie in the world for the past 3 weeks in a row, and it feels like it is going to maintain that position for more weeks to come.
