Microsoft has finally released the Windows Virtual Desktops for Public Preview today. Before this, Microsoft made an announcement last year that they will be launching a Windows Virtual Desktops service, but at that time, it was in private preview. But now, Microsoft has rolled out this service for public preview and now any enterprise user who wants to give a try to the virtual Windows 10 desktop running on the Azure cloud can opt-in himself.

This virtual Windows will only be used for the Business purpose not for any other tasks like Gaming. This service will include access to Office 365 ProPlus which will enable an enterprise to manage other systems and software running on this service. It also enables the enterprise to offer their employees a virtual desktop through which they can share data among them in a secured manner.

The best feature of this service is, it can handle multiple Windows 10 running at a time on a single virtual Windows. Using this virtual service will make the business cost effective also. This service is powered by technology from FSLogix which has been adopted by Microsoft last year. This fast pace technology will enable Microsoft to offer smooth access to the user on some services like Outlook and Onedrive.

As for the availability of this service, this service will be a part of the subscription cost of the user which they already paid while purchasing the subscription of Microsoft 365 enterprise version. However, they have to pay for the Azure subscription for the virtual service running on the cloud.

As of now, this service is only available in the US East 2 and US Central Azure regions. However, Microsoft will soon expand its reach to all its Cloud regions.
