As the gates swung open, Foujita San got away the best from barrier eight and took an early lead of a length and a half past the judge.
Crossing to the inside lane, Foujita San soon extended its lead to four lengths from Lehndorff before being challenged by Highland Blaze at the 1400m point.
Passed with 300m left to run in a battle with Sharp ‘N’ Smart, punters could have missed the remarkable feat building out wide.
Coming home hard, Manzoice mowed down a length and a half to win the 2500-metre event.
