Xiaomi is reportedly working on the successor of last year’s Mi 5X. Since the last month, the rumor mill has been gradually leaking information on the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6X smartphone. Now, new a couple of hands-on images of the handset have surfaced online.
From the leaked images, we can see that the Xiaomi Mi 6X seems to be sporting slimmer bezels at the top and bottom with the taller 18:9 aspect ratio display which likely to measure 5.9” with full HD+ resolution. On the rear, the handset sports an all-metal unibody design with matte finish and a circular shaped fingerprint scanner in the center. There is a vertical dual camera module in the top left corner along with an LED flash placed between lenses. The camera setup looks similar to iPhone X.
From previous leaks, the Xiaomi Mi 6X is expected to be powered by an in-house Surge S2 processor. It is an octa-core processor with four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.2GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores with a clock speed of 1.8GHz. The processor is coupled with Mali G71-MP8 GPU based on TSMC’s 16nm fabrication processor.
As of now there is not much information available on the specifications, pricing, and availability of the smartphone. However, Xiaomi has already confirmed that it will be present at the upcoming MWC 2018 to be held in Barcelona next month. We can expect the brand to announce the Xiaomi Mi 6X and flagship Mi 7 at the event.
