Xiaomi Mi Max 2 with 5300mAh battery launched in India at Rs. 16,999

On Tuesday, Xiaomi has a launched its new phablet smartphone The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 in India at Rs. 16,999. The main highlight of the phone is a gigantic 5300mAh battery. The smartphone will be available to purchase from July 27 via both online and offline retail channels. But an exclusive sale will begun on July 20 and 21 at 12pm via Mi.com and Mi Home.

Xiaomi is giving a launch offer with the purchase of Mi Max 2, customers will get up to 100GB of Jio 4G data, which is split over ten recharges of 10GB each of INR 309 and above till May 31, 2018.

It will be made available in a Matte Black colour variant – this variant is exclusive to India, with Xiaomi saying it was motivated by the fact the Matte Black variant of the Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4 were the most popular in the country. The company adds that the smartphone will be Made in India.

Coming on specifications, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system and sports a 6.44” full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) 342 ppi display with  2.5G curved glass and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The display brightness is rated at 450 nits and 72 percent NTSC colour gamut. The phablet is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

For photography, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 comes with 12MP rare camera with a Sony IMX386 sensor which offers 1.25-micron pixels, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture with the support of dual-LED flash. On the front, there is a 5MP front facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture and real-time beautification options.

Connectivity options of Xiaomi Mi Max 2 includes 4G VoLTE, dual band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB Type-C, Bluetooth v4.2, and GPS/ A-GPS. Sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, infrared sensor, fingerprint sensor on the back. The phablet measures 174.1×88.7×7.6mm and weight 211 grams. 

The Mi Max 2 is powered by a gigantic 5300mAh battery, which the company claim can give two-day battery backup. The phone also comes with Quick Charge 3.0 and parallel charging support, which can charge 68 percent battery in just one hour. The phone gives a video playback of 18 hours, music playback of 10 days, 9 hours of gaming, 21 hours of navigation and 57 hours of call time.
