Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Special Edition with 6GB RAM Launched

Xiaomi has introduced a new version of its Mi Note 2 phablet – it’s called the Mi Note 2 Special edition and comes with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM. At the starting price of CNY 2,899 ($426/Rs. 27500 approx) company is also offering 300 Yuan discount on the new variant during its initial sale. It will be only available in Brigh black colour option.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 was first unveiled in China back in October. The smartphone was originally announced in three storage variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. Rest of the specifications of the new Mi Note 2 special edition remain the same.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a flexible 5.7” OLED both side curved display with 3D curved glass on both sides. It has a 77.2 percent screen-to-body ratio and a 110 percent NSTC gamut with the contrast ratio of 100,000: 1. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 runs MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The device is powered by a a 2.35GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 Performance Edition processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU.

Talking about the camera, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 sports a 22.56MP rear camera with a Sony IMX318 Exmor RS sensor, an f/2.0 aperture. Camera features includes PDAF, and EIS with its own 3-axis gyroscope for 4K video stabilisation. On the front end there is an 8MP front facing camera with Sony IMX268 Exmor RS sensor, and an f/2.0 aperture, it include features like auto focus,  group selfie optimisation, and  Auto Beautify 3.0. It also having a finger print scanner embedded on the home button.

The company is claiming that the Mi Note 2 feature LTE speeds up to 6000Mbps on the downlink, with 3x carrier aggregation. Mi Note 2 also offers virtual SIM support along with dual SIM dual standby. Other connectivity options include NFC connectivity, with support for Mi Pay, apart from Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/-AGPS, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and USB Type-C. Also on board is the Aqstic audio processor, with 192kHz/24-bit Hi-Fi sound quality. The phablet is powered by a 4070 mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 technology.  It measures 156.2 x 77.3 x 7.6 mm and weighs 166 grams.
