Xiaomi has today launched a new Red Colour variant of its popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone, in India. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Red colour variant has a Black finish on the front and Red finish on the back and the sides. After this launch, the smartphone is now available in five colour options including Black, Lake Blue, Gold, Rose Gold, and Red, in India.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Red variant comes with the price tag of Rs. 14,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage option and Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage option. The smartphone already goes on sale on Tuesday via Mi.com at 10:00 am IST and will soon go on sale via Flipkart as well.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro runs on runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system. It sports a 5.99” FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels ) 18:9 display with 2.5D curved glass on top, it offers 450-nit maximum brightness, 1500:1 colour contrast ratio. The smartphone is powered by the 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with Adreno 506GPU. It offers 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB internal storage and 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB of internal storage. The internal storage can be further expanded via microSD card.
For photography, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes equipped with a dual-rear camera setup – It is the first smartphone under Redmi series to feature dual rear cameras. It has a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor with 1.25-micron-pixel and f/2.2 aperture along with a 5MP secondary camera with 1.12-micron pixel, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, EIS, and an LED flash module. It is driven by AI-based semantic segmentation deep learning algorithms that can accurately detect edge for capturing marvellous portrait shots. On the front, it has a 20MP Sony IMX376 selfie camera with LED flash and Beautify 4.0 for capturing AI-driven beautified photos. Both front and rear cameras offer Portrait mode Bokeh effects.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery carrying support for 5V/2A charging. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB port. Redmi Note 5 Pro also promises a Face Unlock feature. However, it doesn’t come out of the box. It will arrive via an OTA update by the end of March 2018. It measures 158.6 x 75.4 and weighs 181 grams.
