Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with Snapdragon 632 SoC reportedly launch in Q2 2018

A fresh report coming out from China that Xiaomi will launch the much anticipated Redmi Note 5 smartphone with Snapdragon 632 SoC in Q2 2018. Recently, a Super moderator on the MIUI forum claimed that the company will discontinue the Mi Note series and the already launched Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. But the recent report brings some relief for all Xiaomi fans, who eagerly waiting for the Redmi Note 5.

As per the report coming from Chinese news site MyDrivers, The phone is expected to be launched officially by the company in the second half of the year with an unannounced Snapdragon 632 SoC. The Snapdragon 632 is basically a downgraded version of the Snapdragon 636 chipset that was announced in October last year. It will come with better support and optimisation for dual camera setup.  The clock speed will be lowered down to 1.8GHz, and the GPU clock speed may be reduced as well.

From previous leaks, the Redmi Note 5 will sports a 5.99″ Full HD (2160×1080 pixel) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It offers 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage which could be further expanded via microSD card.

For Photography, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 comes with a 12MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash while earlier it is said to come with a dual-camera setup. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera self-portrait mode.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is fueled by a 4000mAh lithium-ion battery which is rated to give up to 72 hours of standby time. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS. It measures 158.5mm x 75.5mm x 8.05mm and weighs 179grams.

For the pricing, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to cost higher than its predecessor, it is expected to be priced around 1,599 Yuan ($245/ Rs. 15,600 approximately)
