Skype is testing a new feature for the iOS app by adding a new Screen sharing option. The company has planned to roll out this feature with the next beta update and suprisingly, it will be available for both, Android and iOS users.

The Screen Sharing feature is currently included in the Skype Beta app for the iOS devices. Unfortunately, Microsoft has not disclosed anything regarding the actual release date of this app. However, we could expect from Microsoft to bring this screen sharing feature in a couple of months for the public.

As it says, you will be able to send a live broadcast of your iOS device screen to other contacts on the video call. Interestingly, the entire feature will work in the background and lets you navigate other apps from the same mobile phone. The update will have a separate option within the app that lets you enable this Screen Sharing option.

Skype has also illustrated how this Screen Sharing feature will work through the Control Center Screen on an iOS device. By using the Screen Recording button, users will be able to enable this feature. Or you can even enable this feature using a iOS Framework button.

Once you dismiss this feature, iOS will send samples of the video and audio captured by the app’s native video recording screen. Skype will then upload these samples using the extension. The uploaded sample files transmits to other people in the running conversation.

Well, the Screen Sharing feature is currently in its beta tests. The makers have not declared the official release date of this app. However, the same would be made available to public later this year. In the coming days, we would get to hear some more information about this newly tested feature.

To get an access of Skype’s Beta edition with Screen Sharing feature, you need to be an active user of Skype Insider which is a program that lets users test the beta editions of the app. You can also signup yourself as a beta tester from their official page.
