A recap of 2022’s upcoming amiibo waves for Smash and Monster Hunter

More Smash, some other stuff

The original plan of providing amiibo figures for every Smash Ultimate roster member succeeded. Well, until DLC threw a wrench in the works! Although Nintendo is still pursuing this lengthy goal, not all of the figures are actually out yet, and may not even all come out by the end of 2022. Here’s a great big 2022 amiibo recap.

So first up in “spring 2022” is the next Smash wave, which will bring the amiibo count up through Steve/Alex. Yep! Both of the Minecraft characters are getting their own release, separately (Japan is also offering a double pack). Min Min is also in this same “spring 2022” window.

Next is Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, around the “summer/mid” 2022 window. That will probably coincide with the launch of the game, and will include a new Palamute and Palico set of figures, alongside of Malzeno, the new big bad monster (similar to the original Rise amiibo scheme). Then at some point later in the year we’ll get Sephiroth, Pyra/Mythra, Kazuya, and Sora, if everything goes according to plan.
