Aamir Khan wells up after watching Amitabh Bachchan’s Jhund

After seeing Jhund during a private screening, actor Aamir Khan was left teary-eyed. The actor lavished praise on the film in a video published by T-Series on its YouTube account, calling it a “unique” one. Aamir remarked in an interview with Jhund director Nagraj Popatrao Manjule and producer Bhushan Kumar that the film “breaks whatever we learned in the last 20-30 years.” Jhund, according to Aamir, is “one of the greatest films.” He praised the children who contributed to the film.

The biographical sports drama is based on the life of Vijay Barse, a social worker who encouraged slum kids to join a football club, and Amitabh plays him. As the film concluded, Aamir was heard remarking in the video, “What a film. My God. Bahut hi behtareen film hai (It’s an amazing film).”


As he offered a standing ovation, he was seen wiping tears away with the sleeves of his T-shirt. “It has happened for the first time that a film has received a standing ovation during a private screening. I don’t have words to say. The way you have captured the emotions of girls and boys of India, it’s unbelievable. The way the children have worked is unbelievable,” he exclaimed.

“What a film you have made! It’s a fantastic film. It’s very unique, I don’t know how you guys were able to make it. The spirit that you have captured doesn’t come from logic.” Aamir described the film as “surprising,” adding that it has a long-lasting impact on the viewer. “, He explained  “The film breaks and undoes whatever we have learnt in the last 20-30 years (waves his hand). You have made a football out of that (laughs).”

Aamir Khan remarked of Amitabh Bachchan, “What work he has done! He has done great films in his career. But this is one of his best films. One of his greatest films.”

As the actors of Jhund entered the room, Aamir gave a standing ovation, cheered, and hugged them. After that, he welcomed them to his house and introduced them to his son, Azad Rao Khan. He also interacted with them and took photographs with them.

The film will be released on March 4th.
