Ahead of Q4 results, Infosys, RIL, HDFC were top additions by mutual funds

Mutual funds have made major revamps to their portfolios in the last month of the previous financial year, adding index majors Infosys and Reliance Industries, while reducing positions in Ultratech Cement and SRF in the large cap space.

In the broader markets, mutual funds added Sona BLW, Phoenix Mills, Devyani, Kirloskar Oil in March, according to a report by Nuvama Institutional Equities.

Overall, fund houses have deployed about Rs 20,700 crore into Indian equities in March.

Apart from Infosys and Reliance Industries, HDFC also featured among the top additions by fund houses in the largecap space.

In the midcap space, some of the key reductions include PB Fintech, Patanjali Foods, National Aluminium and Container Corp. Meanwhile, fund houses have trimmed positions in Computer Age Management Services, SFL Corporation, Route Mobile, Karur Vysya Bank and Archean Chem in the smallcap universe.

TCS, Reliance Industries, HDFC, Bharti Airtel were among top stocks that were added by mutual funds for three consecutive months till March, while Britannia, Bajaj Auto, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Bharat Electronics and SRF saw consistent reductions for three straight months.

Here are top additions and reductions by major fund housesSBI Mutual Fund
Prominent additions were HDFC AMC, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Power Grid Corp. Major reductions included Reliance Industries, State Bank of India and Max Healthcare Institute.

Kotak Mutual Fund
Large additions were Kotak Mahindra Bank, Infosys and ITC. The fund’s prominent reductions included Hindustan Unilever, Titan Company and UltraTech Cements.

ICICI Pru Mutual Fund
Major additions were Infosys, Reliance Industries and Maruti Suzuki. The fund reduced positions in GAIL (India), UltraTech Cements and Vedanta.

DSP Mutual Fund
Key additions to the portfolio included Gujarat Fluorochemicals, GAIL (India) and State Bank of India. Their major reductions were HDFC
Bank, Navin Fluoro International and Container Corporation.

HDFC Mutual Fund
Large additions were Hindustan Aeronautics, Infosys and Cipla. Their prominent reductions were Bharat Electronics, Sundram Fastener and GAIL (India).
