Ajay Devgn’s directorial Runway 34 is all set to release on the April 29. The team has a busy schedule doing promotions for the upcoming movie. In a recent media interaction, Devgn revealed that the movie was initially not going to be named Runway 34.

The actor and director revealed that the movie was initially going to be named MayDay. Mayday is the distress signal used by ships and aircraft on international radio. The title was however changed once the post-production of the movie began. In the interview, Ajay Devgn talks about the reason behind the name change.

In an interview with ETimes, Devgn said, “Well, it was a funny case. People didn’t have an understanding of the title, and the impromptu landing. We thought during the promotion, it would be clear. However, one fine day, a very, very educated senior man asked if it was about Labour Day or something? That’s when I felt the need to change the title of the film.”

In the interview, he added why they opted for the name Runway 34 instead. He revealed, “Runway 34 fitted perfectly, because when you see the film the whole story revolves around Runway 34, every airport has a different number for their runway and then you’d realise why he chose the wrong runway,”

The upcoming movie stars Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and Amitabh Bachchan. In the movie, Ajay and Rakul play pilots, while Amitabh Bachchan plays the officer who investigates the case later.
