After the failure of Samrat Prithviraj starring Akshay Kumar at the box office, there were rumours of Akshay’s upcoming movie Bade Miyan Chote Miyan being shelved. In light of this director, Ali Abbas Zafar spoke to the media to dismiss all the rumours and called them absolutely baseless. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is a big-budget movie packed with action and drama. It stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff and was all set to release in Christmas 2023.

In an interview with a leading publication, director Ali Abbas Zafar said that the rumours are absolutely baseless and that they are very much on track and that there was no truth to the shelving rumours. He also revealed that they were currently working on pre-production and that for a film of this large scale, months of pre-production were needed. He stated that the movie will go on floors by the end of the year or early next year. The movie will be shot in the UK.

In another interview, he also stated that Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is completely unrelated to the old movie of the same title. The 1998 movie Bade Miyan Chote Miyan starring Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda featured them in double roles and was directed by David Dhawan. However, the two movies are completely unrelated.

The film was announced earlier this year in February with a teaser video. It was also announced that the movie will release in Christmas 2023. However, the movie will clash with Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki directed by Rajkumar Hirani which will release on the 22nd of December, 2023.
