Alleged Leaks Showcase Female Protagonist, Return of Vice City Locations and Much More

It appears that several clips of what appears to be the much-anticipated game from Rockstar, GTA 6 have allegedly leaked online. These clips give us a peek at what to expect from the next title of the iconic video game franchise.

The alleged leaks originated from a post on GTAForums shared by user. The post included a zip file featuring “90 footage/clips from GTA 6”. While several members of the forum believe it to be fake, “teapotuberhacker” made their case for legitimacy. The leaker responded to the doubts of the forum members including screenshots of code blocks and more. This person also claimed that they were behind the latest Uber data breach that surfaced earlier this week.

Just hours after the leak first appeared, the videos have spread on social media platforms including Twitter, YouTube, Reddit, and more like wildfire. While there’s still confusion regarding the legitimacy of the leak, it seems like most agree that it is too elaborate to be fake. Some portion of the fandom maintains that this is not legitimate, while other want to ignore the debate of legitimacy for the time being. Regardless, the community is awaiting a response from Rockstar. The fans believe that a response from the game developer and publisher will confirm (or reject) the validity of the leak.

Here are some of the biggest tidbits that was found in the leaked files.

What do these leaks consist of?

At the moment, not much has been confirmed about the contents of the leaks. Several clips seems to suggest that the alleged leaks have stemmed from an early pre-alpha footage dating all the way back to 2021.

Other than that, there are even reports about build footage contents from 2019. However, for the most part, the clips have mostly ranged from developmental builds from 2021 and 2022.

Moreover, it’s been reported that the game’s source code has surfaced online as well, which could lead to a ton of trouble for Rockstar. With the source code easily available online, the game is at risk of facing cheats and malware from Day 1 itself. This could be a major cause of delay for a game that seems to have been in development for years.

Grand Theft Auto reportedly returns to Vice City

While the leaks continue to be debated, it seems like the reports of the franchise heading over to Vice City might be true after all, as the leaked clips feature several evidences of the game’s setting being South Beach.

The gameplay videos showcase the scale of Vice City in GTA VI, with the footage showcasing locations from the beach city based on Miami. The alleged leaks have mentioned the return of iconic locations from GTA: Vice City like the Malibu Club. Moreover, a new POI named Port Gellhorn might be a part of the map as well.

GTA 6 leaks showcase female protagonist named Lucia

The rumblings about GTA 6’s development have been around for years, with several reports unveiling rumors about the title’s gameplay and visuals.

One of the biggest rumors about GTA 6 revolved around the game’s playable protagonist, as it was stated the title will feature the franchise’s first female lead. The clips from today’s alleged leaks have shown a female playable character, who goes by the name Lucia. Moreover, some of the footage has also shown a male lead named Jason, which seems to suggest the game will have two protagonists compared to GTA V, which featured three male protagonists in Franklin, Michael and Trevor.

Weapons and shooting mechanics revamped for GTA 6

The alleged clips and reports that have come out of the leaks include information about the weapons in GTA 6.

The clips have shown a massive difference in how users will be handling the weapons. Furthermore, it seems like players will also be able to pick up weapons from the ground, which is a feature that has never been part of the series.

The contents of the leak have been releasing non-stop, with new information popping up every second. While fans have already dubbed the leaks to be the real deal, several community members are taking the news in with a grain of salt.

As of right now, Rockstar Games have yet to publish any statements or any DMCA takedowns. It will be interesting to see what the developers have to say about these leaks. In the meantime, it is worth noting that the game is still years away from launch, even if the contents of the leaks suggest otherwise.
