God of War fans have been eating good over the past few years. It first began with the release of the new PlayStation franchise that debuted in 2018. The game went on to earn rave reviews from both fans and critics, which eventually culminated in a Game of the Year title.

Later on, a sequel titled God of War: Ragnarok was announced, which is set to release this year. Moreover, earlier this year, the 2018 PlayStation title even dropped on PC for the first time as well in a port that was well received by the community.

However, that’s not all, as the story of Kratos will now join the world of TV as well.

According to Deadline, Kratos might soon be added to the list of iconic video game characters such as Master Chief from Halo and Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher to have their own TV show.

Popular streaming platform Amazon Prime Video is currently in talks to adapt the video game into a live-action TV show based on the mythology.

The report further states that this might lead to the biggest TV series based on a video game, and the industry currently has a ton of them in development.

While on one side, HBO is developing a show based on the Last of Us franchise, Paramount+ will soon debut the Halo TV show later this month. Amazon Prime Video is also developing other shows based on video game IPs with franchises such as Mass Effect.

With the addition of God of War, PlayStation will now be spinning off another one of their major IPs into a live-action property, and it will be interesting to see how the show will adapt the vast mythos involving Kratos and the Gods.

While we don’t know how the plot will play out, fans hope to see some of the classic Kratos hard-hitting action, which might require some gore and brutal force, and they can’t wait to see what’s in store for them.
