Andrew Garfield is one of the most loved actors across the globe. Films like The Social Network, The Amazing Spiderman and more recently, Tick Tick Book, The Eyes of Tammy Faye have garnered praise from critics and audiences alike. He also had the crowds roaring with his emotional and exciting cameo on Spider-Man, No Way Home.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, he recalls auditioning for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and losing the role to Ben Barnes. He said, “I remember I was so desperate. I auditioned for Prince Caspian in ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ and I thought, ‘This could be it, this could be it. ‘And that handsome, brilliant actor Ben Barnes ended up getting the role. I think it was down to me and him, and I remember I was obsessed.”
Furthermore, he added that when he asked around why he did not get the role, he was told that it was because of his looks. He remembered how the news was broken to him, ‘It’s because they don’t think you’re handsome enough, Andrew.’ Ben Barnes is a very handsome, talented man. So in retrospect, I’m not unhappy with the decision and I think he did a beautiful job.”
Well, we don’t know what they were thinking, but we surely don’t agree with their assessment.
