Now I want to feed everyone everything
Every time I read a Zelda fact, I want to go out and try it immediately. A lot of the game was kept secret until multiple playthroughs or even years after the fact, including this Breath of the Wild squirrels tidbit.
Collected by Redditor aguapic, this wholesome perfect-for-the-Monday-blues video showcases one simple tip: you can feed acorns to squirrels. Sure we’ve all seen the “feeding dogs” bit because it became a speedrunning phenomenon, but this simple act of kindness to Breath of the Wild squirrels is probably a little more unnoticed. As the creator points out, it can be tough to get squirrels to not flee at the mere sight of you, so doing it on a higher plane might help lure them in. However, they don’t lead you to treasure like the in-game dogs do.
This sort of interaction epitomizes why Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 may have been delayed. The team was able to craft the first game mostly in secrecy, and create all these organic interactions free of expectation. All of these clips are essentially bonus content, collated across the web. But with the direct continuation and the nomenclature codified in stone, Breath of the Wild 2 will need to bring it. The first thing I’m checking is if you can feed squirrels acorns!
