Ant-Man and the Wasp Star Is Receiving Serious Backlash for Protesting Against Vaccination Mandate

Following her turn in the hit TV show Lost where she played Kate Austen, popular Hollywood actress Evangeline Lilly has become a household name ever since she took up the mantle of The Wasp in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After appearing in multiple Ant-Man and Avengers movies, her character in Hope Van Dyne has become one of the best female superheroes while being paired with Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang.

In the movies, Hope plays as a tough senior board member of her father’s tech company in Pym Technologies. Along with her impeccable fighting skills, The Wasp also has the chops to tackle the scientific aspect of Hank’s revolutionary technology in the Pym Particle.

However, the Hollywood star has come under a lot of scrutiny after she posted about her protest against mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations. The actress recently posted on Instagram where she revealed that she attended a protest against the mandate in Washington DC.

Marvel fans were displeased by her choice to protest against the mandatory vaccinations as the Omicron variant continues to cause havoc around the world.

In her post, she stated how she didn’t particularly like that citizens were being forced to take the vaccinations for many reasons. Moreover, she mentioned that she was “pro-choice before COVID” and “still pro-choice today.”

Evangeline Lilly became the second high profile MCU actor to take issue with mandates and vaccines along with Black Panther star Letitia Wright. The British actress came under a lot of fire when she expressed anti-COVID vaccine sentiments.

Immigrants and non-immigrant air travelers in the US had to take the vaccine compulsorily, and with the shooting of the Black Panther sequel taking place in the United States, the British actress was in quite the conundrum.

While it’s believed that Marvel and Wright had resolved the issues, the movie’s production has hit many roadblocks with her injury and other COVID cases involving the crew.

However, just like Evangeline Lilly, Letitia Wright also faced a lot of criticism for her stance on vaccines and mandates as the fandom dragged her on social media platforms like Twitter with jokes and memes.
