It is indeed a matter of pride when women bring in gold medals for the country. The latest to have honoured the country with that recognition is Zareen Nikhat who bagged a gold medal at the Women’s World Boxing Championship under the 52 KG category by defeating Jitpong Jutamas hailing from Thailand. The final was conducted on fly-weight and was being held in Istanbul where Zareen claimed the great victory. Nikhat is just 25 years old and has now joined the league of Mary Kom who had won the same title way back in 2018 which marked her 6th gold medal in the sport.
