Apex Legends Season 12 Nerfs and Buffs Teased By Developer

With Season 12 of Apex Legends right around the corner, we’re all eager to know what nerfs and buffs will arrive in the new update.

Although we won’t know every single detail until the official patch notes are released, YouTuber kjannaplays did get to sit down with the live balance designer John Larson and discuss some upcoming changes for Apex Legends.

Apex Legends Developer Discusses Future Nerfs and Buffs

During the 20-minute interview, kjanna asked Larson a magnitude of different questions surrounding weapons, legends, and what fans can expect in the future. For those that don’t know, Larson handles all of the balance changes with weapons and legends each update.

One of the most important balance changes expected to come in a future update is to Gibraltar. Although Larson didn’t confirm the change for Season 12 in the interview, Apex Legends leaker ThordanSmash believes a nerf for the popular Legend will arrive at the beginning of the season or shortly after release.

In the interview, Larson said that “we want to do some rebalancing to [Gibraltar’s] kit”. The Apex dev went on to say that “people pick [Gibraltar] out of necessity, they don’t have a lot of fun with him”. Larson then went on to discuss in great detail what specific changes could be made to the Legend.

As well as Legend changes, fans can also expect the Spitfire LMG to be leaving care packages with Season 12, but exactly what will replace it is still unknown. But one thing is certain, the Rampage won’t be replacing it as a nerf originally scheduled for the next Season actually went live a few days ago. As theorized by ThordanSmash, it wouldn’t make any sense for the Rampage to replace the Spitfire in care packages as Larson stated that no further nerfs are expected just yet.

When Is Apex Legends Season 12?

The release date for Season 12 of Apex Legends is expected to be Tuesday, February 8th, 2022. However, this is yet to be officially confirmed by Respawn Entertainment.
