Apple is expected to launch the Apple iPhone 14 series later this year. The lineup is rumoured to consist of four smartphones – Apple iPhone 14, Apple iPhone 14 Max, Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max. Although Apple is not known to reveal any details about its upcoming products, tipsters and suppliers often reveal what users can expect. As per the latest report by Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, all four models in the iPhone 14 series will be equipped with 6GB of RAM.
The report from TrendForce came a few days ahead of the WWDC 2022 event. The report further mentions that the ‘Pro’ models in the iPhone 14 lineup will feature a faster and power efficient type of RAM called LPDDR5. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max are expected to carry LPDDR4X RAM.
This is not the first report that has revealed RAM details of the iPhone 14 series. Previously known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also claimed that the iPhone 14 series smartphones will have 6GB of RAM and the Pro models will get LPDDR5 technology.
Report from Taiwanese research firm also suggests that the iPhone 14 Pro models will have base storage of 256GB. For context, the iPhone 13 Pro models have base storage of 128GB. As per previous reports the smartphones will feature triple rear camera setup with a 48MP wide lens, 12MP ultra wide and telephoto lenses.
According to previous Tweets by Ross Young, Apple iPhone 14 Pro models will have the punch-hole cutout to house the front camera and the pill-shaped cutout will feature an infrared camera for Face ID. He also suggested that we may not be able to see an under display infrared camera until 2023 or 2024. This means that we can not expect the under display Face ID feature until iPhone 15 Pro. Previously, the smartphones were rumoured to only have a punch-hole cutout as seen on the Samsung Galaxy series devices.
