The long-rumoured Apple AR/VR device has been in the news for the past few months. According to a report by MacRumors, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that the company’s upcoming Mixed Reality headset may get delayed due to software-related issues. The report doesn’t specify the software-related issues that the Cupertino-based tech giant is facing with the AR/VR equipment. However, the report claims that these issues may push the mass shipments of the device to the second half of 2023.
Apple AR/VR headset: Expected details
Kuo expects Apple to introduce the AR/VR headset at WWDC 2023 (which usually happens around June) if it is not officially announced in early 2023. The analyst also expects the company to open up its Software Development Kit (SDK) at the same time. SDKs will help developers to create AR/VR apps for the device.
The mass shipments for the components of the AR/VR device are likely to start in the first half of 2023, claims Kuo. However, Apple might not start shipping the fully assembled device until the second half of the year. Kuo predicts that this will result in a delayed launch even if Apple announces the Mixed Reality headset in early 2023.

Kuo also expects that the upcoming Apple AR/VR device will arrive with an expensive price tag. He also predicts that the company may ship less than 500,000 units in 2023. More details about the product’s pricing and features are expected to surface in the coming days.
