Apple may not roll out any major hardware updates for these devices in 2023

Apple is expected to unveil its AR/VR headset in the first half of 2023. The Cupertino-based tech giant may have to move its focus away from other products in its portfolio to put its attention towards the virtual reality headset. According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPhone maker is not planning to refresh the lineup of other Apple devices in 2023 including — iPads, AirPods, Apple Watch and Apple TV.
iPad hardware update expectations
As per the report, Apple’s iPad lineup may not get any significant updates in 2023. Gurman adds that the company may release 11-inch and 13-inch ‌iPad‌ Pro models with OLED display in the first half of 2024. However, he also mentions that Apple may introduce new models of the entry-level ‌iPad‌, iPad mini, and iPad Air with “minor spec bumps.”
AirPods hardware update expectations
In case of the AirPods lineup, Gurman asks users not to expect any notable spec update in 2023. This means that Apple may not debut an updated version of the AirPods Max. The most outdated product in the company’s AirPods lineup is the AirPods Max headphones. Earlier, rumours suggested that Apple is developing a lighter and more affordable version of the headphones.

Apple Watch and Apple TV hardware update expectations
Gurman also claimed that no major hardware changes are also expected for the Apple Watch lineup in 2023. However, the company might add some minor performance improvements to Apple Watch models, the report adds. Apple launched its latest Apple Watch Ultra model in September 2022 along with the new iPhone 14 smartphones. The company is expected to roll out some minor updates for the most expensive Apple Watch and other models.
The report even added that Apple also might not have any plans for a new ‌Apple TV‌ device in 2023. The company launched the latest Apple TV 4K model along with the latest iPads in October 2022.
