0

Apple recently released their most powerful silicon based chip, the M1 Ultra for their Mac Studio device. The M1 Ultra is an amalgamation of 2 M1 Max chips providing the user with the power of two powerful chips in one package. Upon this release, people already started speculating the arrival of the M2 chips into the market.

According to the recent reports by 9to5 Mac, Apple plans to release the new M2 chip with the Macbook Air and the new entry level Macbook Pro. M2 chip will also be receiving its own set of variants just like the M1. It seems like the M2 Pro and the M2 Max will be reserved for the 14 inch and 16 inch Macbook Pros. An M2 Ultra variant will also be released, but it will be reserved for the upcoming Mac Pro.

Now the most interesting development in Apple is that it seems like they are working on an even more powerful chip and that is the M3. Yes, you read it right, Apple is reportedly working on their most powerful chip yet, the third iteration of their silicon based chipsets. This new chip will be reserved for their upcoming instalment of the iMac.

During Apple’s April 2021 event, they released a new sleek iMac, revamping it from all ways possible. The iMac has a 24-inch display along with new cameras, new speakers and an all new chip. The latest generation of the iMac has the M1 chip, and not even the M1 Pro, Max or the now release Ultra variant. It seems like Apple will be refreshing this series again, with an all new M3 chipset powering this beast.

The M1 Ultra has already smashed all records in terms of processing power and providing users with an experience where there is close to no lag from inception to rendering of their projects. It will be exciting to see what Apple does to take this up a notch and provide the users with even more power. Apple’s M2 chip with the new devices might release in 2022, but for the M3 chip the users will have to wait at least for another year.
