A new report claims that tech giants Apple might be pushing hard on its plans to develop mixed reality projects following recent hires.

According to the sources of mobilegamer.biz, the Cupertino-based company has reportedly hired two out of the three co-founders of Playdeo in Jack Schulze and Timo Arnall.

With these hirings, Playdeo has essentially closed shop to be likely acquired by Apple. With no employees, it’s possible that eventually, the London-based studio will be integral in Apple’s plans for the future.

How will the rumoured Apple VR headset fare against the PSVR 2 and the Meta Quest?

Playdeo is mostly known for its innovative mixed reality projects. This includes Avo, which is a playable TV show that follows the story of young inventor Billie. Following the release of Avo in 2019, the company released a second title called Mystery Coast: Treasure Hunt in 2020.

With its experience in mixed reality projects, co-founders Schulze and Arnall will be potentially providing valuable insight to Apple’s plans. These will most likely play a huge hand in the rumors surrounding the latter’s future endeavors to enter the AR/VR space.

With companies like Meta already establishing its place in the VR world, Apple could provide a big boost to the space with its technology. While the company has already made huge strides in bettering AR technology, a VR headset could be a game-changer from the people behind the iPhone and iPad.

Various rumours have suggested the possibility of Apple developing a VR system. And it will be interesting to see if the recent hirings of Schulze and Arnall could play a massive part in its development.
