Here’s all that you need to know about how to download Apple iOS 16 in our complete download guide
What time will iOS 16 rollout start in India
Apple iOS16 rollout will start at 10 pm (IST) on September 12 in India.
Which all iPhones iOS 16 is compatible with
Apple iOS 16 is compatible with iPhone 8 and all above iPhones. This means that iOS 16 supports all iPhones launched in the year 2017 and after.
How long should you wait before downloading iOS 16
It is always advisable to be cautious. The window you should look for is to wait for two or three days. You will be able to know if there are early bugs. Usually in 2-3 days all bugs are sorted. In the past, some users have encountered bugs after the initial rollout. Apple usually issues a patch in a day or two for such issues. If you want to be super cautious, then download the new iOS after a week as by then everything should be smooth.

Can you revert back to iOS15 if there are issues
Yes you can. It is difficult to revert back to the previous version of the operating system (iOS 15 in this case), but it is possible.
How to prepare your iPhone for iOS 16 download: Backup your iPhone
It is highly recommended to take a backup of your iPhone before you download the new OS. Though the chances of you losing your data are very less, but not entirely negligible. Your data must stay protected just in case something goes wrong. By default, your iPhone should back itself up every time it’s connected to power and Wi-Fi. However, in case this backup feature is disabled, you can go to Settings > Your Name > iCloud > iCloud Backup and then hit Back Up Now to back up your device. Remember, you need to have W-Fi ‘On’ to take iCloud back-up.
Back-up tip: Archive your backup
Apple also recommends iPhone users to archive their backup, so that it is not overwritten by other backups.
How to prepare your iPhone for iOS 16: Free up storage
Make sure that you free up at least 8GB of storage on your iPhone before going ahead with the iOS 16 upgrade. Depending on which iPhone you have, the iOS 16 update may take up to 5GB of internal storage. You need to be especially careful if you have older-generation iPhones with 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. To free up space, you may delete some apps or games you do not use. Also, look at videos taking up too much space on your device. You can transfer them to a cloud service.
How to prepare your iPhone for iOS 16: Make sure your iPhone is up to date
Before updating to iOS 16, make sure that your iPhone is running on the latest version of iOS 15. The latest version of iOS15 is iOS15.6.1. This will ensure that the update appears in the Settings menu once iOS16 becomes available. To check for an update: Go to Settings > tap General > choose Software Update.
How to prepare your iPhone for iOS 16: Connect to WiFi and charge your battery up to 60% at least
Make sure that you are connected to a strong, reliable WiFi connection and your iPhone needs to have at least 50 percent of battery life remaining to download the new OS. Patchy WiFI can disrupt your OS update and at times stall it mid-way.
Choose the time you want iOS16 to download
Once all this is done. Start the download process. To install iOS16 when the update is released, open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap General > Software Update. Tap ‘Download and Install’. To update now, tap Install. Or tap ‘Later’ and choose ‘Install Tonight’ or ‘Remind Me Later’. If you tap ‘Install Tonight’, connect your device to a power cord at night and your device will update automatically by morning. If prompted, enter your passcode.
Reboot your iPhone once the iOS16 download is complete
If you choose ‘Download and Install’, you should see a loading bar, along with a rough estimate of how long the download process will take. Once the download is complete, reboot your device and wait for the iOS16 to install.
